Q. What's the difference between archive storage and deep storage?
A. Archive storage, as a term, can include any form of document, media or records storage & management. (It can also include doing your own archiving and storage, which we don't advise after a point.) In most cases it's just an alternative title for the same thing. But "deep storage" usually means that it's less accessible: However at Saracen even your "deep" storage (in the home counties) is only ever 48 hours away - compared to 24 hours for our regular document or archive storage. Many deep storage facilities are in the least expensive corners of the country and thus getting your records back quickly is more difficult and certainly slower.
Q. Why do you claim that the savings at Saracen for archive storage for London businesses are so great?
A. Because we store outside London (even though we collect from & deliver to London every day) our costs are lower. Many central stores pay considerably more in property costs and therefore have to charge more.
Even more expensive is self storage in London and the highest cost is undoubtedly storing in your own London premises.
Q. Can I mix my storage between deep and regular arching?
A. Yes, at Saracen you can split it three ways - deep, regular and active - all retrievable, albeit on different retrieval timetables. However if you do need anything in an emergency, we should be able to get it back to you in a surprisingly quick timeframe.
